This Whole milk is produced by the ethical farming practices of Meggy Moos Farm based in Shroton. This milk has been very gently pasteurised using a traditional, lower temperature method but it has not been homogenised. This is what makes it taste so different to the mass-produced milk you find in a supermarket.
It is super-fresh, pasteurised within hours of milking and the lack of homogenisation means it will it will stay naturally creamy at the top and easier to digest.
This means that you can benefit from the extended shelf life that pasteurisation provides without compromising on flavour or freshness.
As our milk is also not standardised to an industry-defined fat content, the butterfats within it do fluctuate with the cows seasonal dietary changes and even changes in the weather. However, as a guide, our whole milk generally has a fat content of 3.7-3.9%.
This milk is not certified organic due to the cows being treated when they are ill.
They milk them with 'robots' so they decide when they want to be milked, not by the farmers. By using this system, just 15 minutes of the cow's day is taken up by milking, giving her the rest of her day to relax and just 'be a cow.'
